Air Fryer Honey Chicken

Crispy, sticky, better-than-takeout honey chicken. No deep frying, no heavy batter, fraction of the calories.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 4 .5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Cut chicken into 1-inch bite-size pieces
  2. 2. Toss chicken with 3.5 tbsp cornstarch, salt, and pepper until coated
  3. 3. Arrange in air fryer basket in single layer - don't crowd
  4. 4. Spray with cooking spray
  5. 5. Air fry at 400°F for 20 min, flip at 10 min
  6. 6. While chicken cooks, whisk honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat
  7. 7. Mix 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp cold water, pour into saucepan
  8. 8. Stir until sauce thickens, 3-5 min
  9. 9. Toss crispy chicken in sauce
  10. 10. Top with sesame seeds and serve
