How do I create a recipe?
Tap the + button or New Recipe in the navigation bar. From there you can add a title, ingredients, steps, photos, and tags.
How do I make a recipe my own?
Tap Make it Mine on any recipe to create your own copy. You can change it however you want. The original recipe is always credited.
Can I edit a recipe after publishing?
Yes. Open your recipe and tap Edit. Every edit is saved as a new version, so you can always go back to a previous version if needed.
How do I save or bookmark a recipe?
Tap the bookmark icon on any recipe to save it. You can find all your saved recipes on your profile page under the Saved tab.
How do I follow someone?
Visit their profile and tap Follow. Their new recipes will show up in your Following feed on the home page.
How do past versions work?
Every time you edit a recipe, the previous version is saved. You can view all past versions, compare changes side by side, and restore any older version.
How do I scan a recipe from a photo?
When creating a new recipe, tap Scan a Recipe and take a photo of any recipe -- cookbook page, handwritten card, or screenshot. It gets parsed into ingredients and steps automatically.
Is base.recipes free?
Yes. Completely free, no ads.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile Settings page. At the bottom you'll find the option to delete your account. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
